Outdoor Adventures Ojai

Hike

Ventura River Preserve – There are so many options to hike starting from 3 points: the Oso Trailhead, Old Baldwin Road Trailhead, and the Riverview Trailhead. Whether you enjoy a hike, run, mountain bike, or horseback ride, the Ventura River Preserve offers nearly 1,600 acres.

Ojai Meadow Preserve – Protected meadows and wetlands area with a hiking trail, plant nursery and spring wildflowers. Located adjacent to the Nordhoff High School football stadium. Easy and peaceful walking and enjoying nature.

Easier hikes in the area- Piedra Blanca Trailhead in the Rose Valley area. This hike can be easy, moderate, or hard, depending on how long you would like to hike!

Moderate hikes in Ojai – Sulphur Mountain Road, Cozy Dell Trail, and Horn Canyon Trail.

Hard hikes in Ojai – Sespe River trail to Willet Hot Springs, Gridley Trail, and Pratt Trail.

Lake Casitas Recreation Area

Escape into nature at the Lake Casitas Recreation Area. Engage in outdoor activities such as boating, fishing, hiking, and picnicking. Enjoy the picturesque surroundings and take in the fresh air. There is a $10 entry fee per vehicle on weekdays & $20 entry fee per vehicle on weekends and holidays.

The Ojai Valley Bike Path

The Ojai Valley Bike Path routes its way down to Ventura Beaches and is known for being much easier on the way out of town, than it is on the way back. The Ojai Valley Trail is a 9-mile trail that parallels Highway 33 from Foster Park to Fox Street in Ojai.

The Mob Shop

Pickle Ball

Everyone loves a little Pickle Ball! The City of Ojai has four Pickleball courts, which are located at the Ojai City Hall Campus, 401 S Ventura Street.

Outdoor Adventures Ventura

Ventura Botanical Gardens

With a 40-year master plan and already over 100,000 plants in the ground, the Gardens represent the five Mediterranean climate zones of the world; Chile, the Cape of South Africa, Southern Australia, the Mediterranean Basin, and California. These low-water climate zones, like Ventura, allow for long-term sustainability. A fun little hike to the iconic Serra Park, in the foothills above downtown Ventura behind the City Hall. Easy to moderate. $7 admission for the general public. Leashed dogs are welcome on Wednesdays and Fridays. CLOSED on rainy days.
Open Tuesday – Sunday 9 am to 5 pm, closed Mondays.

Island Packers

Island Packers Cruises is the Official Boat Concessionaire for the Channel Islands National Park. They offer year-round transportation to the “local islands” Santa Cruz and Anacapa. Trips to the “outer islands,” Santa Rosa, San Miguel, and Santa Barbara are offered from March through November. Island Packers Cruises also offers trips close to the Channel Islands without going ashore. These trips are designed for you to view the abundant wildlife found in the waters of the Channel Islands National Park and Marine Sanctuary. 805.642.1393

Visitor Center at Channel Islands National Park

In the Ventura Harbor is this family-friendly visitor center featuring a bookstore, a display of marine aquatic life, and exhibits featuring the unique character of each park island.
