LOCAL BEACHES

Ventura, California is known for its beautiful beaches! The area offers a perfect mix of natural beauty, watersports, and relaxation. Come on a tour to my favorite beach spots in Ventura and slightly to the North.

Pierpont

Off Seaward Avenue (look for Inn and Out), is the community of Pierpont! Marina Park at the south end of Greenock Lane and Pierpont Blvd has a great park, playground and surfing. On the North end on San Pedro, you can watch beach volleyball!

Ventura Point

From the Ventura Pier to the North is a great stretch of promenade for riding bikes or strolling with a coffee, surfing (or just watching) and beaching. California Street (C Street or “the cove”) is famous for a great gentle wave, and a little north at the Point is another fun surf spot!

Emmawood

A bit north of downtown Ventura, Emma Wood State Beach is a more secluded and natural beach. A State beach that is nice for the family, surfing and playing in the water! $10 for parking gets you a great parking spot, trash cans and bathrooms…well worth it! The beach is known for its driftwood and a more rugged, unspoiled beauty. You can use the Yodel App to pay by the hour.

Emmamar

I coined this term to describe the location…and you guessed it, Emmamar is the beache area in between Emmawood and Solimar! You can find sand, parking and even waves!

Solimar

This popular beach for surfing and having a social beach day is just south of the Solimar Beach Community. Take the PCH north and the first set of houses is Solimar Beach Colony.

Tanks

Located in between the Faria and Solimar Communities. A nice family beach with sand year round. No bathrooms or trashcans available.

Rincon

Rincon Beach is known for its iconic point break and surfing culture. This beach is more for experienced surfers, and it’s also a great place for picnics and taking in the coastal beauty. Take the 101 North, exit Rincon Road. Turn left under the freeway. There is a parking lot to the left for surfers and to the right for beach goers!

Santa Clause Lane Carpinteria

101 North, exit 88 Santa Clause/Padaro Lane. Turn left under the freeway and another left to the beach! A gorgeous, family friendly sandy beach.

Butterfly Beach Santa Barbara

101 North, exit Olive Mill Rd in Montecito. Turn left on Olive Mill. Continue to Channel Drive about a mile and you will see the beach!

Refugio Beach Goleta

If you feel like a day trip this is an amazing place to go! 101 North, 40 miles. Exit Refugio Road, follow signs toward the campground. Buy a day pass for $10 and have access to this majestic beach! You can use the Yodel App to pay by the hour.
