This romantic beach cottage has 180 degree views looking out to the Pacific Ocean and Channel Islands on beyond. Mondo’s Point is a perfect place to relax, read, write, and feel the sand in your toes. Sit on the deck and watch the pelicans, sandpipers, seals and dolphins in the waves.

This 1950’s vintage beach cottage is equipped with small modern upgrades.  The main living space is all ocean facing and open concept. Open beam ceilings and natural wood design give that beach cottage feel. Look out at the Pacific while cooking breakfast, while having dinner or sipping wine or sodas at sunset.  The home includes two bedrooms and 1.5 recently remodeled bathrooms. It is comfortable for small families and returns you and your loved ones to the romantic days of California beach life.

The cottage has a fireplace inside as well as a fire pit and BBQ outside. It might be a good idea to bring some wood and charcoal. Try your hand at catching halibut or perch off the seawall at high tide or on the sand or fly fishing in the waves for the wild Corbina!

Down the steps from the cottage to the beach, enjoy the Faria Cove, aka “Mondo’s”, site of one of California’s famous surfing long breaks. Your stairs lead you to one of the largest and sandiest coves in our area. Explore the tide pools. Make sand castles or take long walks or runs down the beach in either direction. Have fun surfing, swimming, boogie boarding, kayaking, or sunbathing.

You can bicycle down the old Pacific Coast Highway scenic bike path, or take a short drive to see the Mission, the Santa Barbara Zoo or to hunt for antiques in Downtown Ventura, or to visit historic Ojai or Santa Barbara.

About Faria Beach

Faria Beach in Ventura is a marine sanctuary with exposed tide pools, constant sand flows, and some of the most dynamic marine environments along the California coast. Here, the ocean is your playground and your backyard! The area is perfect for surfing, kayaking, snorkeling, boogie boarding or just to enjoy long walks on the beach, hunting for shells, rocks and sea glass. While this beach is known for dolphins feeding and riding waves on a daily bases, whales can even be spotted during their migration. The sunrises and sunsets are exceptional and the Channel Islands are visible offshore. With just steps to the sand, you will be able to explore one of California’s most unique and beautiful beaches.

Ventura is only 10 minutes to the South. Ventura is that last little beach town in southern-ish California where you can get that small beach town feel with close in proximity to airports, family attractions, wineries, breweries and just so many other great cities to visit. Santa Barbara and Ojai are 35 minutes away; Carpinteria is 15 minutes away. LAX (1.5 hours) and Burbank (1 hour) are located south. Santa Barbara airport is an hour to the north. Amtrak stops in Downtown Ventura!
